For all 1/10 scale YETI transmissions, a 2-speed Hi/Lo Transmission conversion kit is available.
The great thing about this "not so generic" 2-speed kit is that it includes a full set of (3) heat treated hardened steel machined gears, as well as an additional optional high speed gear (Hi Gear Option), a full set of cartridge bearings, two different servo mounting options (micro or standard), a servo saver system, and all required hardware to finish the installation. First gear, which is a 2:1 reduction for slow technical crawls, is followed by the Hi Gear (28T) gear, which is based on the stock 1.08:1 ratio, and the Hi Gear Option (26T), which enhances top speed with a 0.93:1 ratio. While driving, you can quickly change gears while enjoying the pleasure of your radio.
MACHINED GEARS MADE OF HEAT-TREATED HARDENED STEEL
Given the hostile environments in which this system is designed to operate, it was important to create a gear set that could withstand any attack. As a result, a steel gear set that has been heat-treated, hardened, and machined to precise tolerances for optimum performance was created. The two-speed gear slider has the same construction as the gears and a four-tooth engagement design for quick and precise gear changes as needed.
CARTRIDGE BEARINGS IN FULL SET
A complete set of cartridge bearings (6) are included in the 2-speed kit, which is terrific because it provides a fantastic opportunity for a repair while the transmission is apart.
CONTROL OPTIONS
Thanks to the various mounts included in the kit, it is possible to control the gear shifting with either micro or regular sized servos. To effectively perform the shift, a servo with at least 80 oz/in of torque is advised. The kit includes a servo saver design for longer servo life, two distinct servo horns (one long, one short), and three inserts (23T, 24T, and 25T) that can accommodate varying servo spline counts.
